Dallas Cowboys Player Kneeland Dies at Age 24

Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland has passed away aged 24.

Kneeland was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the draft in 2024 and appeared in 18 games for the team, with four starting appearances.

He recorded his initial touchdown in the Tuesday game to the Arizona Cardinals when he retrieved a blocked punt.

"He was a cherished team member and part of our family," the Dallas Cowboys stated.

"We send our condolences regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his loved ones."

Kneeland was picked by the Cowboys with the 56th overall pick of the 2024 draft after his college career for Western Michigan University.

His representative, Jonathan Perzley, said his "heart breaks" for the passing of a player who "gave his all" into each opportunity.

"I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys," Perzley said.

The NFL said it is "deeply saddened" by the tragic event.
