Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a former doctor has been charged with performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
