Kyiv Inks Historic Agreement for French Rafale Jets, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Air Defense Systems

Through a major step to strengthen its future security, the Ukrainian government has signed a preliminary agreement to acquire as many as 100 Rafale fighter warplanes, drones, air defence systems and additional essential equipment from France. The agreement was formalized by Ukrainian president Zelenskyy and French president Emmanuel Macron during a joint press briefing at the Elysée presidential palace. The Ukrainian leader referred to the arrangement as “a historic agreement.”
