The young full-back A further assured showing by the youngster after his debut versus Serbia. Saka did not capitalize on the most of a clever touch behind the Albania defence. His position looks secure already. 7/10

The newcomer His first start in an England shirt. Slightly loose on the ball but his dangerous deliveries posed a danger. A useful game manager for the boss to have against defensive opponents. Cautioned for a poorly timed foul. Six

The midfielder Deliveries on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Enjoyed room to move down the left flank only to be offside as the pass came in front of goal. Given a merited substitution after an hour. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a forward role on the right and also did plenty of dirty work. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance but dragged an attempt wide. Withdrawn towards the end for a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s best chance of the first half, his shot excellently kept out by Thomas Strakosha. As Quansah hanging back, it fell to him to stretch the play out wide although his balls from the touchline varied in quality. Taken off with 15 to go. Six

Harry Kane The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th goals in an England shirt. The opener a classic poacher’s finish and the second a superb headed goal following a clever run off his defender. Now 32, he continues to improve and the side have every chance in future competitions with him up top. 8

The attacker Found it tough to influence play out wide. Was presented with a good opening when set up by Bellingham yet Strakosha made the save. His replacement made much more of influence after coming on. Five
