Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a Los Angeles Vehicle Accident
Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in the state of California aged 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.
The influential video game developer passed away following his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts said.
